Seams are the connecting elements< 2014-05-03 >
A broken seam is absolutely irritating. This statement also applies to technical textiles. Here, for example, a hole in the seam inevitably ends in a catastrophe – just think of an airbag that does not have high-quality seams. These aspects of thread production are everyday business to Amann, as, after all, the company, which even 160 years after its foundation is still in the hands of the founder’s family, ranks among the top three manufacturers of sewing and embroidery threads worldwide.
“Every day, we manufacture about one million kilometers of thread, which equals a circumnavigation of the globe, in one hour or some 2.7 million men’s suits,” points out CEO and Spokesman Bodo Th. Bölzle, who has been working for Amann since mid-1997. “Sewing thread is a product that provides almost infinite possibilities. Just think of all the different yarn counts, colours and finishings such as brushing, polishing, signing and different makeups. Threads are manufactured in various lengths, depending on the requirements of each industry. This is an offering that differentiates us from many competitors. Every factory has a special product programm.”
